Dr Sakha graduated from Newcastle University with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery and went on to complete his Foundation Training year in Exeter. During this time, he gained hands-on experience in a wide range of treatments, from crown preparations to surgical extractions, while also learning from specialists in areas such as children’s dentistry, gum health, root canal treatments, and even dental photography.
Dr Sakha really enjoy’s being involved in the community and helping to make dentistry feel approachable from a young age. He has given fun and interactive talks at local schools, where children not only learned about looking after their teeth but also enjoyed free dental goodies to take home — turning the session into a positive and memorable experience.
Before becoming a dentist, he also worked closely with children with additional needs, including autism, down syndrome, and cerebral palsy, providing respite care for families. This experience taught him patience, empathy, and the importance of tailoring care to each individual.
These values are a big part of how he practises dentistry today, helping him to make both children and adults — especially those who may feel nervous — feel comfortable and supported in the dental chair.
Outside of dentistry, Dr Sakha likes to stay active and spend time at the gym or playing sports such as squash and tennis. He finds keeping fit helps him bring good energy and focus into his work.
When he’s not on the move, Dr Sakha enjoy’s unwinding by watching a good film at the cinema — it’s one of his favourite ways to relax.
